RBWM Cabinet meeting 30th October 2014

Updated 29 Oct 2014

RBWM's cabinet meeting will take place at Eton Wick Village Hall on Thursday 30th October.

VILLAGERS ARE INVITED TO THIS MEETING BUT PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT THERE MAY NOT BE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ASK QUESTIONS. ONLY 45 MINS HAS BEEN ALLOCATED TO THE FLOOD ISSUES. AFTER THIS CABINET WILL PROCEED WITH OTHER ITEMS ON THEIR MEETING AGENDA.

Thanks to the help of Craig Miller at RBWM, a closed meeting has been scheduled before the Cabinet meeting to fully inform all parties involved of the problems experienced throughout Eton Wick and call Thames Water and the Environment Agency to account.

Representatives will include RBWM Cabinet members, RBWM Environmental Leads, Environment Agency, Thames Water, Slough Borough Council, South Bucks District Council, Public Health England, Dorney Parish Council and Eton Town Council.

A statement which contains details relating to the numerous problems (including sewage discharge, flooding, high water table) which have affected the village this year has been issued to RBWM. RBWM have agreed to take responsibility for the issues and will use the statement and requested actions to assign responsibilty to the relevant party or parties who are in a position to respond to the problems. The Statement can be found here.

A PUBLIC MEETING WILL BE ARRANGED FOR NOVEMBER ONCE THE ACTIONS HAVE BEEN ASSIGNED. UPDATES  WILL BE COMMUNICATED TO RESIDENTS AT THIS MEETING WITH THE OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL TO ASK QUESTIONS.

THE RECENT ARTICLES WERE ISSUED BY THE ENVIRONMENT AGENCY IN AN ATTEMPT TO TRIVIALISE ISSUES AND CONVINCE RESIDENTS ACTIONS WERE BEING TAKEN IN THEIR INTEREST.

THIS IS NOT SO.  THE EA HAVE FAILED TO RESPOND TO OR RESOLVE ANY OF THE ISSUES AFFECTING THE VILLAGE.  THE ARTICLES SPIN FACTS TO HIDE THE TRUTH ... DON'T BE MISLED BY THE LOCAL PRESS
